Emmett Tinley's first solo outing.
After spending a dozen years steering Wicklow band The Prayer Boat through the harsh vagaries of the music industry, frontman Emmet Tinley has gone out on his own. 'Attic Faith', released this year on Dublin-based Independent Records, is his debut solo album. Emotive and lyrically beautiful, it is sterling proof to those fans that kept the faith that Tinley is a true survivor.
He initially started writing the album in Amsterdam at the end of a Prayer Boat tour in 1999 but it has taken years of honing, recording and mixing in the US, Denmark, Ireland and the UK for it to see the light of day. At the beginning of March 2003 recording began in New York under the eye of producer Victor Van Vugt, who has worked with Nick Cave, Beth Orton and PJ Harvey. Most of the album was captured in a studio in Manhattan, with finishing touches added in Denmark and Dublin, not to mention the recording of a 14-piece string section in London.
